2014 Events

ICANN's 51st International Meeting in Los Angeles, 13 – 17 October 2014

The Contractual Compliance team attended ICANN's 51st International Meeting in Los Angeles, 13 – 17 October 2014.

On Tuesday 14 October 2014, the team joined the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Registrar Stakeholder Group, the Registry Stakeholder Group, the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) Stakeholder Group and the Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) group to share an update on the compliance activities and address their questions.

On Wednesday 15 October 2014, the team provided ICANN community a Contractual Compliance Update with a focus on the compliance metrics, the audit program and other general updates on registrar and registry compliance activities.

In addition, the team held two closed sessions on Thursday 16 October 2014; one focused on the Registrars and the other one on the Registry Operators. 2014 Registry Roadshow Workshops

The Contractual Compliance team in partnership with the Registry Services Team delivered the first two of three roadshow workshops:

• North America Meeting held on 9, 10 and 11 September 2014 in Los Angeles, USA – Session Slides [PDF, 1.27 MB] and Questions & Answers [PDF, 94 KB]

• Europe Meeting to be held on 19, 20 and 21 November 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey – Session Slides [PDF, 1.25 MB]

The objectives of the Contractual Compliance Update sessions are: 1) to inform the registry operators about Contractual Compliance’s scope, approach and process; 2) to provide updates on the performance reporting, guidelines on contractual obligations and the most common lessons learned; and 3) to address compliance related questions.

Asia Pacific Contractual Compliance Webinar – 14 August 2014

The Contractual Compliance team conducted a webinar on the "Introduction of Contractual Compliance" [Slides | Transcript – JA, KO, CH]. The objective of the webinar was to provide an update and clarifications to the ICANN contracted parties, both Registrars and Registries in the APAC region, on the most common Contractual Compliance issues. The participants were also given the opportunity to ask questions and express their concerns directly with the Contractual Compliance team [Questions & Answers] [PDF, 371.93 KB].

ICANN's 50th International Meeting in London, 22 – 26 June 2014

Maguy Serad, Victor Oppenheimer, Jennifer Scott, Yan Agranonik, Zuhra Kasap, Seher Sagiroglu and Selim Manzak attended ICANN's 50th International Meeting in London, 22 – 26 June 2014. The Contractual Compliance team held several outreach sessions; the Registrar Outreach Session and Registry Outreach Session for Delegated TLDs. In addition, on Wednesday 25 June 2014, the team provided the ICANN community with a Contractual Compliance Update.

The team also presented on ICANN's Contractual Compliance Program at the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Law Enforcement Workshop, the Registrar Stakeholder Group, the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) Stakeholder Group and the GNSO Council.

New Registry Agreement Audit Program Outreach Sessions – May 2014

The contractual Compliance team conducted two sessions about the New Registry Agreement Audit Program [Slides | Transcript] on 12 May 2014 to allow focused discussions as well as address questions from the contracted parties. The sessions introduced the overall audit objectives, the audit phases and timeline, and the Registry Agreement's provision under consideration.

ICANN's 49th International Meeting in Singapore, 23 – 27 March 2014

Maguy Serad, Owen Smigelski, Sumi Lee, Roger Lim and Yungsheng Wang attended ICANN's 49th International Meeting in Singapore, 23 – 27 March 2014. The Contractual Compliance team held several outreach sessions; the Asia Pacific Registrar Outreach Session, the Registry Outreach Session for Delegated TLDs and in partnership with the Engagement Team, conducted a 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) session. In addition, on Wednesday 26 March 2014, the team provided the ICANN community with a Contractual Compliance Update.

The team also presented on ICANN's Contractual Compliance Program at the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Law Enforcement Workshop, the Registrar Stakeholder Group, the Registry Stakeholder Group and the Intellectual Property Constituency Stakeholder Group.
