2016 年 7 月 5 日: 平行测试期于 2016 年 7 月 5 日成功结束。 在测试期间,生成系统中生成的根区文件和平行测试系统中生成的根区文件之间没有出现不明原因的差异。

 

概述

在 2015 年 3 月 4 日发送的一封信函中,NTIA 正式请求 Verisign 和 ICANN 联合编制一份提案,其中说明应如何以最佳方式移交 NTIA 的根区管理职责,并在此过程中维护互联网 DNS 的安全、稳定和弹性。

在 2015 年 8 月提交给 NTIA 的提案中,ICANN 和 Verisign 提议开展平行测试期以确认生成根区管理系统 (RZMS) 和 RZMS 的平行测试版(已省略 NTIA 授权步骤)对发布的每个根区文件生成相同的输出结果。

平行测试期持续 90 天,如果在生成 RZMS 和平行测试 RZMS 之间没有发现根区文件中有不明原因的差异时,平行测试即视为成功。但如果在此期间发生了不明原因的差异,则应当及时处理问题,并重新启动为期 90 天的平行测试期。

在平行测试期开始之前,ICANN 和 Verisign 将用一些时间进行必要的系统代码修改,移除 NTIA 的授权步骤并准备进行平行测试。在代码修改完成后,平行测试期开始于 2016 年 4 月 6 日。在为期 90 天的测试期中,根区文件的每日对比报告会在 Verisign 网站进行发布。此外,月度总结报告现在也已可供查阅(见下方)。

90 天平行测试期的成功结束为保证移交后的互联网根区继续安全稳定地运行迈出了重要的一步。

Internationalized Domain Name ,IDN,"IDNs are domain names that include characters used in the local representation of languages that are not written with the twenty-six letters of the basic Latin alphabet ""a-z"". An IDN can contain Latin letters with diacritical marks, as required by many European languages, or may consist of characters from non-Latin scripts such as Arabic or Chinese. Many languages also use other types of digits than the European ""0-9"". The basic Latin alphabet together with the European-Arabic digits are, for the purpose of domain names, termed ""ASCII characters"" (ASCII = American Standard Code for Information Interchange). These are also included in the broader range of ""Unicode characters"" that provides the basis for IDNs. The ""hostname rule"" requires that all domain names of the type under consideration here are stored in the DNS using only the ASCII characters listed above, with the one further addition of the hyphen ""-"". The Unicode form of an IDN therefore requires special encoding before it is entered into the DNS. The following terminology is used when distinguishing between these forms: A domain name consists of a series of ""labels"" (separated by ""dots""). The ASCII form of an IDN label is termed an ""A-label"". All operations defined in the DNS protocol use A-labels exclusively. The Unicode form, which a user expects to be displayed, is termed a ""U-label"". The difference may be illustrated with the Hindi word for ""test"" — परीका — appearing here as a U-label would (in the Devanagari script). A special form of ""ASCII compatible encoding"" (abbreviated ACE) is applied to this to produce the corresponding A-label: xn--11b5bs1di. A domain name that only includes ASCII letters, digits, and hyphens is termed an ""LDH label"". Although the definitions of A-labels and LDH-labels overlap, a name consisting exclusively of LDH labels, such as""icann.org"" is not an IDN."
