Language Services at ICANN75

As we get ready for the upcoming hybrid Annual General Meeting (AGM), we want to provide you with an update on our interpretation services during ICANN75 in Kuala Lumpur.

The AGM will mark the first time since the beginning of the global pandemic that our entire Language Services team will be on-site to provide interpretation in the six U.N. languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish) and Portuguese.

New at ICANN75

We are glad to be able to expand our language support to the Country Code Names Supporting Organization, by providing interpretation services in French and Spanish for select sessions.

How to use the interpretation services during ICANN75

All participants (virtual and on-site) will be required to use Zoom to participate in the sessions and use the "Raise Hand" feature in Zoom to enter the queue to talk.

For on-site participants, headphones will not be included in your registration bag. Instead, interpretation headsets will be available for sessions that include interpretation. Pick up an interpretation receiver and headset as you enter the room for your first session that provides interpretation. The table may be located near the entrance or in the back of the room. Select your preferred language on the receiver and listen to the interpretation on your headset. If you wish to speak, use the physical microphones provided in the room. When you leave the room, return the receiver, but keep the headset for the duration of ICANN75.

For virtual participants, download the Zoom application to your device and join via computer audio to use the language interpretation feature. Click on the interpretation icon in the Zoom toolbar to select and listen to your preferred language. If you wish to speak, make sure to select the language that you are speaking before taking the floor. This will allow others to hear the interpretation.

If you haven't done so, review this page to familiarize yourself with the participation tools. Whether in person or virtually, we look forward to seeing you at ICANN75.
