On behalf of the ICANN Board and organization, welcome to the ICANN79 Community Forum, which begins on Saturday, 2 March 2024, online and in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
After celebrating ICANN's 25th anniversary last year, we are looking forward to another productive and transformative year ahead.
The first in our annual three-meeting cycle, the Community Forum is six days long. Each Community Forum includes time for the ICANN Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees to conduct internal work, as well as for cross-community interaction and plenary sessions on topics of communitywide interest.
With nearly 200 public sessions to choose from, there is something for everyone at ICANN79. Participants have the opportunity to learn about the new ICANN Grant Program, to prepare for this year's Universal Acceptance Day, to help develop the next ICANN Strategic Plan, and to contribute to the conversation around the future of Internet governance.
As we begin a new year of pursuing our shared goals, let us reflect on all that we achieved and learned in 2023. We overcame many obstacles, demonstrating that we are stronger when we work together.
