I am pleased to report that the implementation design of Work Stream (WS2) has now concluded.
Work Stream 2 (WS2) of the Cross-Community Working Group on Enhancing ICANN Accountability (CCWG-ACCT) resulted in over 100 accountability and transparency-related recommendations directed to the ICANN organization (org) and community. Similar to reviews, these recommendations serve to ensure that ICANN remains accountable to the multistakeholder community.
As announced in March 2021, ICANN org convened an internal cross-functional project team of subject matter experts to develop a plan to strengthen its continued efforts to address these Board approved recommendations.
In addition to defining an internal handbook for implementation, this exercise helped shed light on what work may proceed now and allowed us to refine the list of dependencies and the related sequence of events.
The implementation design also identifies how to best support community groups in their implementation planning, as appropriate. ICANN org will continue to support the community in reviewing existing documentation and procedures, discussions regarding prioritization and timelines, as well as any additional work that may be required, such as drafting.
