ICANN Quarterly Updates on Specific Reviews Recommendations

We are pleased to inform you that the ICANN Specific Reviews Q4 2022 Quarterly Report has been released.

This is the first iteration of reporting on Specific Reviews which ICANN is committed to delivering on a quarterly basis. This report complements the Annual Reviews Implementation Report (included in the Annual Report). It captures implementation highlights, strategy, and plans as the organization progresses through the implementation of the 70 Specific Reviews recommendations the Board has approved.

The report also provides an update on work towards informing Board consideration of the 20 recommendations currently in pending status.

ICANN's four Specific Reviews are anchored in ICANN's Bylaws. Their goal is to assess how certain aspects of the ICANN ecosystem are performing, including how the ICANN organization, Board, and community fulfill various commitments. The four reviews are:

  1. Accountability and Transparency Review
  2. Competition, Consumer Trust and Consumer Choice Review
  3. Registration Directory Service Review
  4. Security, Stability, and Resiliency Review

Specific Reviews are conducted by community members, supported by ICANN, and critical to maintaining a healthy multistakeholder model.

Of the 70 Board-approved recommendations, 27 are currently considered complete, 23 in progress, and 20 have not been started.

We look forward to sharing further updates with you in the future and invite you to follow our work through ICANN.org or the community wiki pages. For more information, we encourage you to join the 27 February 2023 session during ICANN Prep Week ahead of the ICANN76 Community Forum.
