The Middle East DNS Forum will take place during 3-4 February 2014 in Dubai, UAE. The meeting is hosted by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the UAE, and is co-organized by ICANN and ISOC. The forum is an opportunity to meet and network with key players from the DNS sector in the Middle East as well as worldwide. Participants from governments, ccTLD and gTLD Registries, Registrars, and broader business will attend the meeting in an aim to build bridges between interested parties in the region and world’s experts in the field, share experiences and best practices, and inform the audience of the latest developments and emerging business opportunities in the domain name sector.

The forum will cover topics such as New gTLDs, Registry strategies for domain name growth, Role of ccTLDs in strengthening the domain name industry at national and international level, Registrar accreditation in a borderless environment, and Registrar strategies in a competitive environment. In addition, the program will include breakout sessions on three main tracks: ‘Business’, ‘Policy’ and ‘Technical’. These sessions aim to allow participants the chance to come together in small groups and have open discussions around issues of interest in each of the three tracks.

The forum is open to anyone interested in domain names and the business opportunities they can provide. Target audience includes policy makers, new gTLD applicants, gTLD and ccTLD Registry and Registrars, Internet businesses, marketing and branding specialists, trademarks and intellectual property lawyers, as well as registrants and end users.

Attendance is free of charge; online registration is available at http://tiny.cc/sov98w. More information about the event is being posted at www.mednsf.org/. For any questions, please send an email to me-dns-forum@icann.org.
