Today at the Lisbon meeting

29 March 2007
By Office of the Ombudsman

This morning I am on the Agenda for a presentation at the Public Forum. At each ICANN meeting the Ombudsman does presentation on recent activities, and I also try to add some value by speaking about some aspect of my Office. Today I will talk about the Ombudsman's ability to receive information from the organization in order to conduct reviews. In order to allow more time for community dialogue, these remarks will be posted rather than read into the record.

This afternoon I have the pleasure of visiting with colleagues on the At Large Advisory Committee. I look forward to a lively and informative conversation.

Registerfly continues to be a topic of considerable import at the meeting, and I would encourage registrants who turn to my Office for information to continue to check for updates at http://blog.icann.org/

As an independent officer of the organization, it may inappropraite for me to comment on the actvities of the organization with respect to the eventual outcomes of this issue, but I do feel it is fair to note for the community my observation that the ICANN staff has been putting in long hours trying to not simply resolve this over-riding issues, but also with each registrant who has contacted the organization.
