Introducing ICANN’s New Adjunct Ombuds

10 March 2023
By

Greetings from ICANN's Office of the Ombudsman, and a warm welcome to all virtual and in-person ICANN76 attendees.

I would like to introduce Linda Mainville, the new Adjunct Ombuds. Linda has extensive knowledge in the ombuds environment. With specific expertise in systemic investigations, she will be a great asset to the Office and the community moving forward. Holding a Ph.D. in adult education, Linda's most recent accomplishments include training ombuds investigators for a large Canadian Federal Government department in conducting systemic investigations.

Welcome to ICANN, Linda. I invite in-person ICANN76 attendees to drop in to the Ombuds Office in Bacalar 3 to welcome Linda to ICANN. Or if you are attending virtually, please email us at ombudsman@icann.org to obtain the Zoom link for our virtual office.

I would also like to thank Barb Curwin, the former Adjunct Ombuds, for her dedication for almost three years of service to the Office. Her service to the ICANN community was greatly appreciated in promoting the ICANN Expected Standards of Behavior, ICANN's initiatives on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and in raising awareness of and enforcing the Community Anti-Harassment Policy. I wish her nothing but the best as she pursues new adventures.

In closing, I would like to remind all that your participation in the ICANN multistakeholder model carries responsibilities to adhere to the ICANN Expected Standards of Behavior and the Community Anti-Harassment Policy and Terms of Participation.

Stay safe and be kind.
