ICANN Family Grows with 2 New Members from Seoul

A Memorandum of Understanding was inked by ICANN and KISA (Korea Internet and Security Agency) at the ICANN48 Buenos Aires Meeting in November last year, to serve the purpose of a collaborative boost to engagement efforts in the region and to implement a language localization pilot project.

On the 2nd January 2014, the ICANN Seoul Office welcomed 2 staff members of KISA:

Ms. Hyeyoung Kang (also known as Kelly), who is familiar with Domain Name Policies and International Affairs, will be heading the ICANN Seoul Office. Her responsibilities include promoting Korea Internet Community participation, Internet Governance and language localization in Korea.

Mr. Kang Soo Song takes on the role of Global Stakeholder Engagement Manager, with much experience in managing and running computer systems. Together with Kelly, he will be bridging the Korean Internet Community with ICANN through Awareness, Participation and Collaboration.

The ICANN Seoul Office, an Engagement Centre that is part of the ICANN Asia Pacific Hub, is committed working hand in hand with KISA to serve the region that has the highest number of Internet users in the world.
