ICANN Appoints Gino Marliani as ICANN SVP, Global Human Resources

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced today that Gino Marliani has been appointed ICANN’s Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources for the nonprofit organization.
 
Marliani is a seasoned global human resources executive with more than two decades of experience leading people, culture, and organizational strategy across multinational, high-growth, and creative organizations. He is known for building people strategies where individuals thrive, cultures evolve with purpose, and business performance is strengthened through aligned, forward-looking talent strategies.
  
In this role, Marliani will be responsible for leading all human resources activities across the organization, with particular focus on refining and executing ICANN’s people strategy. As a member of ICANN’s Executive Team, he will ensure that the human resource initiatives align with business objectives and contribute to building and maintaining a thriving, high-performance culture.
 
“ICANN is a truly global organization, with a team of more than 450 talented staff members across 33 countries who are dedicated to ICANN and its mission,” said Lindqvist. “The SVP of Global HR must have business acumen, high emotional intelligence, deep cultural fluency, and proven experience in workforce planning and development. Gino’s extensive experience shaping talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness programs will enable us to enhance the employee experience while driving organizational performance.”
 
Marliani, who officially joins ICANN on 16 March 2026 is eager to “listen, learn, and partner with colleagues across the organization to ensure that our people, leadership, and culture continue to support ICANN’s mission and long-term stewardship. Marliani will be based in ICANN’s Los Angeles headquarters.
