As a specialist of French language -- see a list of my publications at https://benoitmelancon.quebec/langue_biblio.html -- I think it is essential that all latin script diacritics be recognized on the Web. On a more personal note I want my domain name -- benoitmelancon.quebec -- to be the same as my social identity: beno_î_t melan_ç_on dot qu_é_bec. This use of latin script diacritics has been proposed for a long time: it is time to make it happen.
