Accredited Registrars

An accredited registrar is an entity that offers domain name registration services to registrants of a generic top-level domain (gTLD) with direct access to the gTLD registries.

Registrar Information Specification

The Registrar Information Specification (RIS) of the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) requires ICANN-accredited registrars to provide ICANN with certain information. The RIS also requires registrars to display the following information on their websites:

  1. The correspondence address for the registrar;

  2. The registrar's principal place of business (if different than the correspondence address);

  3. The full names and positions of all officers of the registrar; and

  4. The ultimate parent entity of the registrar, if applicable.

Additional details regarding these requirements are in the Registrar Information Specification.

If you have a complaint regarding a registrar failing to comply with these requirements, please submit a case with Contractual Compliance.
