Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO)

The ccNSO is a body within the ICANN structure created for and by ccTLD managers.

Decisional Participant

The Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) plays a crucial role as a Decisional Participant within ICANN’s Empowered Community. As a Decisional Participant, the ccNSO exercises key community powers, including approving fundamental bylaw changes, rejecting ICANN’s and IANA’s budget proposals, and participating in the removal of ICANN Board members when necessary. This role strengthens ICANN’s accountability framework and ensures that ccTLD interests are effectively represented in the global Internet governance ecosystem. The role is described in Annex D of the ICANN Bylaws.
