As you are no doubt aware, the ICANN Board's CEO Search Committee was tasked several months ago with identifying and recommending a pool of viable candidates for the President and CEO role to present to the full Board for consideration.
As the committee Chair, I am pleased to report that we have developed a draft candidate profile and job description, which we look forward to sharing with the ICANN Community at the ICANN77 Policy Forum. You can find the draft on the Search Committee webpage.
To create a picture of the attributes needed in ICANN's next leader, the Search Committee sought input from across the ICANN community through a series of Listening Sessions with the full Board. During these sessions, the Board heard from all of the ICANN Community groups, ICANN Organization executives and staff, and our Internet ecosystem partners. On behalf of the Search Committee, I would like to extend our warm thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated in these sessions and, without exception, offered thoughtful and constructive contributions.
Next, the Board will discuss the draft candidate profile and job description during the upcoming Board Workshop, which takes place in Washington, D.C., just before ICANN77. The Board will then share any updated draft that emerges from that workshop, as well as the next steps in the CEO search process and projected timeline, during ICANN77 in a plenary session on 13 June at 19:30 UTC.
