At ICANN 48 in Buenos Aires, members of the new ICANN Strategy Panel on Identifier Technology Innovation were tasked with the goal of developing a technology roadmap for the DNS and for ICANN’s technical and security operations.

It has been a fascinating and provocative journey. We’ve been exchanging ideas and considering input from the community.  We’ve held two face-to-face meetings with lively discussions that have been critical in drafting our recommendations. We seek to focus on best practices and reference systems and plan on publishing our initial output imminently.

Let me offer my sincere thanks to the dynamic members of this panel who have contributed much time and effort to our task thus far. Jari Arkko, James Seng, Rick Boivie, Paul Vixie, Anne-Marie Eklund-Löwinder, Lixia Zhang, and Geoff Huston all have been hard at work engaging the ICANN community around the key technology matters of today.

And we want to continue to hear from you.  Join in on the conversation by sending us an email at itipanel@icann.org.
