24 June 2006

ICANN is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Bart Boswinkel as Account Manager - RIR's.

Bart is of Dutch nationality. Before joining ICANN, he was General Manager of the registry for .nl. Prior to his work for the .nl registry he was General Counsel with one of the first major ISP's in the Netherlands. Bart holds a MSc in both Business Law and Anthropology.

Bart's primary responsibility will be to enhance and develop our relations with registries - to gain a better understanding of how ICANN can best serve them. This will be from both an operational and policy perspective. The primary focus will be on the ICANN services provided. He will also be involved in potential joint efforts to promote our respective Missions. He will coordinate with other key ICANN contacts (eg IANA staff, policy support staff, operations and accounts) to ensure that we develop a holistic view of our relationship and ensure effective communications and service. Bart's first area of focus is the RIRs. He may then direct his attentions to include some of the gTLDs. Bart will be based in the Brussels Office.
