Deadline for NextGen@ICANN73 Applications Extended

22 October 2021

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) today announced that the deadline to submit applications for the NextGen@ICANN73 program has been extended through 5 November 2021.

ICANN wants to hear from regional university students in North America who are interested in the future of the Internet and participating in the ICANN73 Community Forum. ICANN73 is scheduled to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 5 to 10 March 2022. If ICANN73 is held as a virtual meeting, all NextGen@ICANN73 program activities will be conducted online.

If you are an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student between the ages of 18 to 30 living and studying in the North American region, you may be eligible for the program.

The NextGen@ICANN73 application window will remain open until 5 November 2021. Successful candidates will be announced on 26 November 2021 on the ICANN website.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
