Before inviting you to the next meeting that we will have the pleasure to host in my dynamic, diverse and vast region of Latin America and the Caribbean, I would like to start by congratulating you all, colleagues and community, for a very successful meeting in Singapore.

Despite the distance that separates our region from the Asian region, we have developed interesting activities within ICANN 52 which had very good participation from Latin American and Caribbean people. These are the times, when we gather all together in the same place, that we realize that the Global Internet Community, although very diverse, shares the same approach: the passion to work towards Internet development for the benefit of our societies.

Together with the NIC Argentina team that will be our host again, it is with great expectation that the ICANN team for Latin America and the Caribbean is waiting to welcome you in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires for our public meeting ICANN 53 to be held from 21 to 25 June 2015. We are very grateful and we feel very fortunate to have NIC Argentina support once again. Our previous meeting in Buenos Aires is still fresh in our memory and our entire community still has a very good taste of it.

This meeting will mark a year of intense activity in our region that will also host the Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in November and its editions of the Regional Internet Governance Fora, LAC IGF and the Caribbean IGF. We will begin to work with our partners to organize the second edition of the LAC DNS Forum which proved to be very successful in its first edition. We will be preparing these and many other activities to make sure that next ICANN meeting has a strong component of relevant topics for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Likewise, we will continue to work will all of you in order to deliver another successful series of workshops to raise awareness on the critical Internet resources and the Domain Name System (DNS). These workshops, known as LAC -i- Roadshows and delivered within the Regional Strategic Plan framework, have added more the 250 participants in 2014. We look forward to continuing building upon this success during this year which will ,undoubtedly, focus everyone's eyes on this part of the world.

See you soon!
