This week marks the 30th ICANN meeting, being held at the LAX Hilton.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet with Beth Glassman, an evaluator with the International Standards Organization, to discuss some of the work being done by this Office with respect to Ombudsman evaluation. (see my previous post concerning the evaluation guide).
Today, I will be one of a number of presenters who will provide an orientation to new members of the Board of Directors, Committees, and Supporting Organizations who who been appointed by the Nominating Committee, and who are seated at this meeting. I am very pleased that the Office of the Ombudsman has been included in this orientation.
As previously reported, we are being assisted by a number of learners in the Masters of Conflict Resolution from Pepperdine University. As part of the externship program, these learners will spend time with ICANN, with special attention to our formal and informal conflict resolution systems. I'd like to recognize the University and the learners for engaging with ICANN on this fantastic win-win opportunity.
