Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.

Purpose: The GNSO Council solicits community comments on the Policy Development Process Work Team (PDP-WT) Final Report [PDF, 1.39 MB] which outlines the proposed new GNSO Policy Development Process in the form of forty-seven (47) recommendations, an outline of the proposed new Annex A – GNSO Policy Development Process for the ICANN Bylaws, as well as a supporting document that is envisioned to be included in the GNSO Council Operating Procedures as the PDP Manual.
Current Status: The PDP Work Team developed its Final Report [PDF, 1.39 MB] which was submitted to the GNSO Council on 31 May 2011. The Council directed that a Public Comment period be launched to solicit community input prior to considering the Final Report.
Next Steps: Following the Public Comment period, the GNSO Council will review the submissions and determine whether additional modifications need to be made to the report or whether the new GNSO Policy Development Process is ready to be submitted to the ICANN Board for its consideration.
