About the Fellowship Program:
Since its creation in 2007, the Fellowship Program has had over 1000 successful fellowships. Today many of these individuals are actively participating in all of the ICANN communities as leaders in At Large, the GAC, ccNSO, SSAC and gNSO. There are six alumni of the program now on staff at ICANN, including recent SSAC member Dr. Sarmad Hussain as Manager of IDNs and Rodrigo Saucedo as a Stakeholder Engagement Manager in Latin America. Other individuals are engaged in the gNSO and its working groups as well as actively engaging in Internet Governance discussions around the world.
The ICANN Fellowship program seeks participants from developing countries of the world in order to help create a broader base of knowledgeable constituents to engage in the multi-stakeholder process and become the new voice of experience in their regions and beyond. Our current application round for participation in Marrakech next February launches today and remains open until 19 September 2014 with successful candidates announced on the ICANN website 7 November 2014.
