Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.
Personally, I do not support the single character TLD to be put into the root zone.
1. According to the IDN experts I have contacted, I have found that most IDN experts hold a conservative attitude towards the opening of single character TLD and do not support the single character TLD.
2. In the ccNSO's IDN ccPDP4 WG that I participated in, the use of single character in ccTLD is also not supported. You can see more in the report (https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/ccpdp4-members-report-14mar24-en.pdf )
3. The SSAC's report about single character TLD suggests more conservative policies and measures. However, the current measures suggested do not reflect a more conservative way.
