Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.
The At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) has submitted its comments via the enclosed attachment.
The official ALAC statement has been discussed by the Operations, Budget, and Finance Working Group (OFB-WG) and was ratified by the ALAC ahead of submission.
ICANN Policy Staff in support of the At-Large Community
The At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) appreciates the opportunity to submit comments on the Initial Report on the Second Customer Standing Committee (CSC) Effectiveness Review.
The ALAC and At-Large community support almost all of the recommendations in the Initial Report, with a few minor exceptions:
(1) The role of chair should be filled by a CSC liaison when no CSC member is available to chair the role.
(2) The reports on the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) performance should continue to be circulated on a monthly basis.
