Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO)

The ccNSO is a body within the ICANN structure created for and by ccTLD managers.

ccNSO PrepCom III Workshop

On 27 September 2005, the ccNSO conducted a workshop at the WSIS PrepCom III meeting in Geneva. Presentations were made by Emily Taylor, .uk; Margarita Valdes, .cl; Peter Kim, .kr; and Mohammed El Bashir, .sd on the management models of their respective ccTLDs. Giovanni Seppia provided an overview of the role of CENTR as a regional organization and Chris Disspain provided an overview of the role of the ccNSO. The workshop was well attended by more than 60 people representing governments, civil society and other interested parties.

About ccNSO

The ccNSO is a unique, international platform to exchange information and best practices between ccTLDs. Being a member of the ccNSO allows ccTLDs globally to make their voice heard in the ICANN community.

The ccNSO is the policy development body for a narrow range of global issues regarding country-code top level domains (ccTLDs) within the ICANN structure.

ccNSO membership is open to ccTLD Managers, which are the entities listed as such in the IANA TLD Delegation record.
