Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO)

The ccNSO is a body within the ICANN structure created for and by ccTLD managers.

ICANN Board Nominations

The ccNSO is responsible for selecting two voting members of the ICANN Board of Directors: Seat 11 and Seat 12. The selection process is transparent, community-driven: The ccNSO Council nominates the candidate, who has been selected by the ccNSO Members.

Any individuals can be nominated as long as they:

  • Meet the qualifications set by ICANN for Board members.
  • Do not work for ICANN or hold incompatible roles (as outlined in the ICANN Bylaws).
  • Are willing to serve and accept the nomination in writing.

All ccNSO members vote through their emissaries. The Emissary is the person who represents (all) ccTLD Manager(s) from a Country or Territory.
