Become a ccNSO Councilor

Councillors are elected by ccNSO members from each of ICANN’s five geographic regions, or appointed by the ICANN Nominating Committee. Each year, one Councillor per region is elected.

Eligibility Criteria for Councillors selected by ccNSO Members

  • Any individual can be nominated, seconded, and selected as outlined in the ccNSO Council Election Guideline.
  • Councillors serve in a personal capacity and do not represent the views or interests of their employers.

Considering Running for the ccNSO Council?

If you're interested in becoming a Councillor or nominating a candidate, ccNSO Councillors and the ccNSO Secretariat host informational webinars during nomination periods. These sessions provide:

  • An overview of the selection process.
  • The importance of regular Councillor rotation.
  • Required skill sets, time commitments, and working methods.

Watch past webinar recordings and look out for calls for nominations.
