18-2021 : GNSO Accuracy Scoping Team - Call to Appoint Members
17 August 2021
The ccNSO Council Chair is requested to inform the GNSO Secretariat that it refrains from formally responding to the call to appoint members from the ccNSO to the GNSO Registration Data Accuracy Scoping Team. The rationale for this is the limited impact of gTLD registration policies on ccTLD managers. Moreover, this decision is in line with previous triage recommendations related to EPDP, including recommendation 20-2020.

17-2021 : request from the GNSO Transfer Policy Review Policy Development Process Working Group for input
14 July 2021
The ccNSO Council Chair is requested to inform the GNSO Secretariat that it refrains from formally responding to the Request for Input by the GNSO Transfer Policy Review PDP Working Group. The rationale for this is that the focus of the questions are on the gTLD Transfer Policy, and domain names at the second level. Hence the limited impact on ccTLD managers. Moreover, this decision is in line with triage recommendation 11-2021.

16-2021 : Call for volunteers: IDN EPDP
10 June 2021
Seen the high effort level, and the low impact level for ccTLD representatives to contribute to the IDN EPDP efforts, the ccNSO Council Chair informs GNSO support staff and the GNSO Council that the ccNSO refrains from formally appointing members to this EPDP, however the ccNSO Secretariat will share the call for volunteers, requesting interested members from the ccTLD community to step forward as participants instead.
Rationale: The GNSO EPDP is about the current gTLDs, and domain names at the second level. Hence the limited impact on ccTLD managers. SubPro on the other hand is about future gTLDs. Liaisons from the ccNSO to the GNSO and vice versa are indeed in place, to track what is happening, inform about outcomes and flag potential concerns.
The ccNSO Council decided not to assign any members to this Working Group for the following reasons: liaison were appointed from the ccNSO PDP WG to the GNSO effort, as did the GNSO to the ccNSO PDP4 WG, to ensure the coordination between the two groups. Looking at the expectations for members under the charter - members to consult and represent the ccNSO – assumes that the ccNSO will discuss gTLDs and their policies at second level regularly. However this is not a topic for the ccNSO to discuss. Nonetheless, the ccNSO appreciates that individual ccTLD Managers may want to share their experience with the IDN EPDP WG, we therefore will circulate the call for volunteers among the ccNSO membership and broader ccTLD community and invite them to engage as participant.
