The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced that Mandy Carver, Senior Vice President of Government and Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) Engagement, has retired after more than 16 years at ICANN.
Carver joined ICANN as Deputy General Manager for Global Partnerships in November 2006, marking the first instance of an international engagement team at ICANN. She has since served in several different capacities at ICANN and has contributed significantly during her tenure. She was appointed to her current position in December 2019.
"Mandy has been an important member of the ICANN organization team since day one," said Sally Costerton, ICANN's Interim President and CEO. "We are truly indebted to her for her tireless contributions over the years. Her dedication to ICANN's mission, eager collaboration with others, and professionalism have been an inspiration to many. She will be truly missed and I wish her a wonderful retirement."
Costerton has appointed Veni Markovski, Vice President of Government Engagement – U.N. New York, to lead the Government and IGO Engagement team on an interim basis. Markovski, who served as a member of the ICANN Board of Directors from June 2003 to December 2006 and joined the ICANN organization staff in January 2007, brings his extensive experience in government and international relations, as well as a deep understanding of Internet governance to the role.
