Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) Table Review Tool Now Available

1 July 2021

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) today released a pilot version of its Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) Table Review Tool. This new online tool gives generic top-level domain (gTLD) registry operators (ROs) and registry service providers (RSPs) the ability to check IDN tables they have designed before submitting them for review by ICANN organization (org). The tool compares IDN tables with Second-Level Reference Label Generation Rules published by ICANN org, and aims to improve consistency and transparency of the IDN table review process.

To use the IDN Table Review Tool, click here.

ROs and RSPs are encouraged to review the IDN Table Review Tool user manual and terms of use. A recorded webinar is available for more information on how to use the tool.

The review tool is currently in the pilot phase and users are encouraged to provide feedback that will be used to help improve its next iteration. Feedback and user questions can be directed to ICANN Global Support at globalsupport@icann.org.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
