Initial Report on the Second CSC Effectiveness Review

14 September 2022

Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) opened a new Public Comment proceeding.

According to the ICANN Bylaws and the Customer Standing Committee's (CSC) charter, the effectiveness of the CSC needs to be reviewed regularly. In August 2021, the second CSC Effectiveness Review Team (the Team) was appointed.

The review was initially limited to assess the CSC effectiveness against the tasks listed in its charter and whether the recommendations from the first review were implemented. In the course of its work, the Team added additional topics.

The Team is seeking feedback and comments on its findings and recommendations.

For more information and to participate in this proceeding, please visit this webpage.

Start Date for Submissions: Tuesday, 13 September 2022

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
