Added Session: ICANN Grant Program Implementation Update Webinar

2 December 2022

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) invites the community to join a public webinar for an update on the ICANN Grant Program. This webinar will cover identical content as the webinar on 1 December 2022, and is scheduled to accommodate participants in different time zones.

The Grant Program is the culmination of years of work by the ICANN community. It is a testament to the multistakeholder model in action, as well as to the ICANN organization's ability to deliver on the community's recommendations. The Grant Program will distribute the proceeds from auctions of last resort in the 2012 New gTLD Program. Once launched, it will be open to applications from any eligible organization across the world for projects that are supportive of ICANN's mission. Through this program, ICANN will support creativity and innovation that furthers our vision of a single, open, and globally interoperable Internet.

This webinar will report on recent updates regarding the preliminary implementation design, the work ahead as the implementation design evolves, and the forecasted timeline leading to the first grant cycle.

This additional webinar will take place on 7 December 2022 at 6:00 UTC. Register here.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
