A Global ICANN Resolver Operator Forum Announced

2 December 2021

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) organization (org) is pleased to announce a new forum intended for Domain Name System (DNS) resolver operators and experts from across the world. The ICANN Resolver Operator Forum will provide opportunities for participants to compare experiences, discuss best practices, and to network.

The purpose of the ICANN Resolver Operator Forum aligns directly with ICANN's overall mission to maintain the security and stability of the DNS. For this reason, the forum will gather recursive resolver experts and operators from across the world, including the regions of Africa, North America, Latin America/Caribbean, Asia/Australia/Pacific, and Europe.

The ICANN Resolver Operator Forum will take place virtually 14 December 2021 from 15:00 to 18:00 UTC.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
