Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.

ICANN needs to collaborate with organizations that work in the fields of identity and trust services. They work on norms, protocols and methods relevant to ICANN's remit. They tend to have their own multi-stakeholder processes and outreach. Yet it appears that ICANN lacks any meaningful connection to most.
Recognizing that collaboration between silos is essential, a number of them came together at the Global Digital Collaboration Conference 2025 in Geneva two months ago. See https://globaldigitalcollaboration.org/ . Many participants were from North America.
Rather than simply inviting others to participate in ICANN, the engagement team should be given the resources for the difficult work of building two-way connections and ongoing collaboration.
