Universal Acceptance as Digital Cultural Inclusion
Universal Acceptance (UA) should not be viewed only as a technical matter. While technical compatibility is important, UA is fundamentally about digital cultural inclusion.
Language and script are expressions of identity. When valid domain names or email addresses in diverse scripts are not propertly supported, the issue becomes one of cultural exclusion, not just technical Limitation.
ICANN should frane UA within the broader context of digital inclusion and cultural equity, and engage Linguistic communities alongside technical stakeholders.
Universal Acceptance is not only about systems accepting names it is about the Internet accepting people.
This submission emphasizes that Universal Acceptance UA should not be treated solely as a technical issue. Beyond system compatibility, UA is fundanmentally a matter of digital cultural inclusion.
Failure to support valid domain names and email addresses in diverse scripts can result in cultural exclusion and reinforce digital inequality. ICANN is encouraged to frame UA within the broader context of digital inclusion and cultural equity, engaging linguistic communities alongside technical stakeholders.
