The following is a summary of discussions, actions taken, and actions identified:

  1. Further Consideration of the Asia Green IT System Bilgisayar San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. (AGIT) v. ICANN IRP Final Declaration (.HALAL/.ISLAM) – The BAMC reviewed the background on AGIT's applications for the .HALAL and .ISLAM strings to date. The BAMC noted that it has evaluated this matter at more than one prior BAMC meeting and has discussed the issues at length both at the BAMC level and at the Board level. The BAMC reviewed the actions and materials that the Committee has taken into consideration in its independent analysis of this matter, including consideration all of the relevant materials from all those that have provided support for and have objected to the applications, as well as the Independent Review Process Panel Declaration. Upon further discussion, the BAMC agreed to recommend that the Board direct the President and CEO to take all steps necessary that the pending applications for .HALAL and .ISLAM not proceed.

    • Action: ICANN org to prepare materials for Board consideration.

  2. Further Consideration of the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) v. ICANN Independent Review Process (IRP) Final Declarations (.PERSIANGULF) - The BAMC reviewed the background on AGIT's application for the .PERSIANGULF string to date. The BAMC noted that it has evaluated this matter at several prior BAMC meetings and has discussed the issues at length both at the BAMC level and at the Board level. The BAMC also noted that it had concluded the required consultation with those Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) members that objected to the application, as the Board directed the BAMC to do earlier this year, as if the GAC had provided non-consensus advice relating to .PERSIANGULF pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Applicant Guidebook. The BAMC reviewed the actions and materials that the Committee has taken into consideration in its independent analysis of this matter, including consideration all of the relevant materials from all those that have provided support for and have objected to the application, as well as the Independent Review Process Panel Declarations. Upon discussion, the BAMC agreed to recommend that the Board adopt the portion of the IRP Panel's recommendation that the application for .PERSIANGULF submitted in the current new gTLD round not proceed.
