Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.

Sint Maarten in the northeastern Caribbean is an island shared with France. Nevertheless, since we are part of the Dutch Kingdom, the Dutch language is still deeply engrained in our legal and financial systems. Yet, since our economy is so closely tied to North America, almost everyone speaks English fluently.
As such, despite the fluency English, most people hold deep allegiance to the language of their own particular ancestry. In doing so, they do express themselves in the specific characters of their respective language.
Therefore, we support the PDP specific to diacritics of the Latin script as part of a simultaneous delegation of an IDN gTLD and its ASCII counterpart to the same requestor. We hope to see it implemented in the very near future.
