Public Comment

Public Comment is a vital part of our multistakeholder model. It provides a mechanism for stakeholders to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented. It is an opportunity for the ICANN community to effect change and improve policies and operations.

Original Public Comment: FY26-FY30 Middle East Regional Plan
Summary of Submission

The plan fosters collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including governments, academic institutions, technical communities, and regional organizations. This multi-stakeholder approach can help leverage resources and expertise while ensuring that activities align with broader regional initiatives.

However, some goals depend on external factors beyond ICANN’s control. For example, the objective to “Keep governments in the region informed about ICANN, its mission, and its initiatives” is contingent upon the willingness of governments to engage.

In cases where governments are unresponsive, which is likely to happen in our region, is there a mitigation strategy in place to address this challenge?
