The University of Chile—through the Institute of International Studies (IEI) and NIC Chile (the .CL ccTLD)—has launched the Internet Governance School, the first academic initiative of its kind in the country. Its flagship course, "Internet Governance and International Relations," has run five editions, training nearly 100 individuals, including students, professionals, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the "Andrés Bello" Diplomatic Academy. The most recent edition, held in November 2025, was supported by CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and focused on digital infrastructure.
The program is characterized by its ability to adapt to changing contexts while maintaining a clear conceptual focus and bringing together leading specialists from various disciplines. In this way, the Internet Governance School has played a significant role in placing these issues on the national academic and diplomatic agenda.
