IDN PDP Working Group 1 Publishes its First Progress Report

IDN PDP Working Group 1 has published its first Progress Report. The goal of this report is to inform the community about the progress made to date by the WG and to solicit input and feedback on its work.

The working group has been discussing the criteria and requirements for the selection of IDN ccTLD's and will report at the ccNSO meeting in Cartagena meeting (Tuesday afternoon 16.30-18.30 local time) as part of the IDN session. The working group would also appreciate your feed-back and input, if any, either at the meeting or by submitting a comment at [email protected]. Submissions will be archived and can be viewed at: http://forum.icann.org/lists/idnpdpwg1-progressreport/.

To be most helpful, you are kindly requested to submit your comments by Friday 14 January 2011.

The Working Group will continue its work during this consultation period.

IDN PDP Working Group 1 is one of the two working groups established under the IDN ccPDP and focuses on overall policy for the selection and delegation of IDN ccTLD's. More information can be found at: http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/ipwg1.htm.

The ccNSO is a unique, international platform to exchange information and best practices between ccTLDs. Being a member of the ccNSO allows ccTLDs globally to make their voice heard in the ICANN community.

The ccNSO is the policy development body for a narrow range of global issues regarding country-code top level domains (ccTLDs) within the ICANN structure.

ccNSO membership is open to ccTLD Managers, which are the entities listed as such in the IANA TLD Delegation record.
