ICANN published yesterday for public comment the Draft Applicant Guidebook, version 4 and several accompanying documents. These documents are being updated today with the following:

It was intended that elements of a draft project plan (on the agenda for the ICANN's Board of Directors April meeting) would be included in the posting on 31 May. The report is for informational purposes: forward-looking dates and milestones are subject to change as the program evolves.

During the Nairobi Meeting and in response to stakeholder request, the Board of Directors adopted a Resolution requesting "stakeholders to work through their SOs (Supporting Organizations) and ACs (Advisory Committees), and form a Working Group to develop a sustainable approach to providing support to applicants requiring assistance in applying for and operating new gTLDs." The Joint SO/AC Working Group on New gTLD Applicant Support was formed and is expected to publish a draft report later this month. Members of the Working Group will meet in open forum during the Brussels Meeting to discuss the issue.

All three documents are included in the Explanatory Memoranda and Related Reports.

A few text revisions were made to the proposed New gTLD Budget explanatory memoranda posted yesterday for comment. The changes are captured on the footnotes of the June 1 revised version.
