Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition
About
The Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition is a tribute to Dr. Tarek Kamel, who served as ICANN's Senior Advisor to the President and Senior Vice President of Government and Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) Engagement. The award recognizes outstanding contributions of fellows in furthering ICANN's capacity development efforts in their respective regions.
The Kamel Fellowship Recognition will be awarded to one individual recipient of the ICANN Fellowship Program for each ICANN Public Meeting, beginning with ICANN68.
The recognition is integrated into the existing ICANN Fellowship Program.
Eligibility
Only returning fellows, i.e., those who have participated in at least one prior ICANN Fellowship Program, will be considered for the award.
Selection Criteria
Applicants are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Selected as a returning fellow for a specific meeting's Fellowship Program
- Have successfully completed a prior meeting's ICANN Fellowship Program
- Actively contributed to capacity development initiatives related to ICANN in their region
The ICANN Fellowship Program Selection Committee makes the final decision based on the ICANN Fellowship Program selection criteria, as well as the criteria mentioned above.
How to Apply
This process is incorporated into the existing ICANN Fellowship Program. Applicants who apply for the ICANN Fellowship Program and who meet the Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition criteria will be considered.
Other
The Tarek Kamel Fellowship Recognition does not add additional participants to the ICANN Fellowship Program. The award will be given to an individual selected to participate in the ICANN Fellowship Program by the Fellowship Selection Committee. Of those selected, the one individual who best meets the criteria for the recognition will be acknowldeged for their achievements.
