BRUSSELS – 2 October 2019

Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that the fourth Eastern European Domain Name System Forum (EEDNSF) will take place from 11-12 October 2019 in Yerevan, Armenia, co-organized with the .am/.հայ Registry, ISOC.AM.

The Forum follows the success of previous fora, namely in Kiev, Ukraine (2016); in Minsk, Belarus (2017); and in Moscow, Russia (2018). It is part of a series of events under the umbrella of the first N2 Forum, which aims to bring together key players of the regional and global Internet community with the theme "Together Towards a Digital Future."

The EEDNSF has been an integral part of ICANN's ongoing outreach efforts to raise awareness on issues related to the Domain Name System (DNS), and collaborate with stakeholders to uncover unique circumstances and experiences in the region. This year's agenda topics include:

  • Technical and policy issues related to the developments in the DNS ecosystem
  • Issues and challenges impacting domain name holders
  • DNS security and cyber hygiene
  • Universal Acceptance
  • Country Code Top Level Domains
  • The stakeholder journey at ICANN

Traditionally attended by over two hundred participants, the event will also have regional and global actors participate and contribute to the discussions with their areas of expertise. It will see high-level participation from ICANN, including:

  • CEO and President Göran Marby
  • Board Member Danko Jevtović
  • Chief Technology Officer David Conrad

Please register here and visit the EEDNSF website for more information on participating in-person or remotely. You can also follow the event on social media with the #EEDNSF hashtag.

About ICANN:

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address into your computer or other device – a name or a number. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation and a community with participants from all over the world.
