任何时候,ICANN 都有可能审查互联网系统的大量不同要素。最重要的是,由于互联网本身具有不断变化的特性,ICANN 会时常更改和审查其结构和流程,以便与时俱进。

公众意见

在该网页上,您可查看所有开放的意见论坛、最近关闭的论坛、即将开放的论坛以及论坛档案。同时附有每个论坛的说明,以及指向其他资源的相关链接。发送给 ICANN 的所有意见都会予以公布,并会在意见征询期结束时对其进行概述/分析。

支持组织

公众意见论坛两方都是 ICANN 支持组织和咨询委员会,他们负责提出观点和提案、评议其他人的意见并最终使政策达成结论,亦即获得 ICANN 理事会批准。每个社群都拥有自己的网站,其上详细说明了正在审查的事宜、即将进行的事宜,以及最近决定的事宜(点击此处查看完整内容)。

博客

ICANN 理事会

ICANN 理事会是最终负责做出决策的机构。理事会通常每月召开一次会议,近期会议及其议程(若提供)的详细信息均可通过一个网页查看。该网页同时提供往次会议的长篇记录,以及公开理事会会议的笔录资料。

公告与会议

组织发布的所有正式公告均会发布到自有的公告网页,同时提供新闻提醒服务,在每次新发布新闻时自动发送电子邮件。最后还有 ICANN 公开会议,其时长超过一周,ICANN 机构群体从世界各地欢聚一堂,面对面讨论问题。

Domain Name System
Internationalized Domain Name ,IDN,"IDNs are domain names that include characters used in the local representation of languages that are not written with the twenty-six letters of the basic Latin alphabet ""a-z"". An IDN can contain Latin letters with diacritical marks, as required by many European languages, or may consist of characters from non-Latin scripts such as Arabic or Chinese. Many languages also use other types of digits than the European ""0-9"". The basic Latin alphabet together with the European-Arabic digits are, for the purpose of domain names, termed ""ASCII characters"" (ASCII = American Standard Code for Information Interchange). These are also included in the broader range of ""Unicode characters"" that provides the basis for IDNs. The ""hostname rule"" requires that all domain names of the type under consideration here are stored in the DNS using only the ASCII characters listed above, with the one further addition of the hyphen ""-"". The Unicode form of an IDN therefore requires special encoding before it is entered into the DNS. The following terminology is used when distinguishing between these forms: A domain name consists of a series of ""labels"" (separated by ""dots""). The ASCII form of an IDN label is termed an ""A-label"". All operations defined in the DNS protocol use A-labels exclusively. The Unicode form, which a user expects to be displayed, is termed a ""U-label"". The difference may be illustrated with the Hindi word for ""test"" — परीका — appearing here as a U-label would (in the Devanagari script). A special form of ""ASCII compatible encoding"" (abbreviated ACE) is applied to this to produce the corresponding A-label: xn--11b5bs1di. A domain name that only includes ASCII letters, digits, and hyphens is termed an ""LDH label"". Although the definitions of A-labels and LDH-labels overlap, a name consisting exclusively of LDH labels, such as""icann.org"" is not an IDN."
