On 14 November 2013, ICANN and Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences (China Internet Network Information Center) entered into a Registry Agreement under which Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences (China Internet Network Information Center) operates the xn--io0a7i top-level domain. Effective 20 December 2017, Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences (China Internet Network Information Center) commenced operations under its new name, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC).
