Minutes | Meeting of the Board Accountability Mechanisms Committee (BAMC) | 20 April 2023

The following is a summary of discussions, actions taken, and actions identified:

  1. Update on Independent Review Process (IRP) Standing Panel Composition – The BAMC discussed the nomination of the slate for Standing Panelists that the Board received from the Independent Review Process Community Representatives Group. The BAMC discussed and agreed on the next steps in the process and requested additional information from ICANN org as part of the next steps.

    • Action: ICANN org to provide additional information requested by the BAMC.

  2. Discussion re Namecheap Independent Review Process (IRP) Final Declaration – The Committee Chair conducted a conflicts of interest check. In Resolution 2023.01.21.09, the Board requested that the BAMC review, consider and evaluate the Namecheap IRP Panel's Final Declaration and recommendations, with the goal of developing one or more recommendations regarding next steps for the Board's consideration. At its 2 March 2023 meeting, the Committee requested that ICANN org provide the Committee with additional information to assist the Committee in developing options regarding next steps. At its 20 April 2023 meeting, the BAMC received a briefing from ICANN org of the additional information that the Committee previously requested. The BAMC discussed next steps and asked ICANN org to prepare a draft recommendation for the Committee's consideration.

    • Action: ICANN org to prepare draft recommendation for the Committee's consideration.

  3. Litigation Update – The Committee received a litigation update.
