As part of our ongoing effort to strengthen our engagement in North America, our team is launching a new webinar series to bring timely topics to the community for discussion. This series will offer learning opportunities and facilitate meaningful participation in ICANN's processes through a virtual environment.
We've chosen an important topic to kick-off our webinars for this calendar year. Our first session, "The Root Zone from A to Z," will be held on 21 April 2021 at 18:00 UTC. The webinar will discuss several operations involved in the creation and distribution of the Domain Name System (DNS) root zone. We will give an overview of the Root Server System, our organization's strategy for the ICANN Managed Root Servers (IMRS), and other security-related topics involved with the DNS root zone.
This webinar will feature ICANN's foremost experts on the topic. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Conrad, the head of IANA, Kim Davies, the leader of our Security and Network Engineering (SaNE) team, Terry Manderson, and one of the Office of the CTO’s top researchers, Roy Arends.
Please register here to participate. These webinars are free and open to anyone, even if you're not based in the North America region.
Stay tuned for our upcoming webinars that will be announced via our social media channels (explore our social media hub here) and in our North America monthly newsletter. You can subscribe here.
I look forward to seeing you soon at one of our 2021 webinars!
