This year, members of the ICANN community and organization will participate in the Africa Internet Summit (AIS) taking place in Kampala, Uganda, from 9 to 21 June, which is a multistakeholder conference on information and communication technologies.

The Summit will bring together industry members and the global and regional Internet community for a series of seminars, workshops, tutorials, and panels.

Since 2012, the AIS has been a key regional event and an effective platform for us to engage with diverse groups of African stakeholders and raise awareness about ICANN and issues affecting the domain name industry.

The summit is co-organized by the African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC) and the African Network Operators Group (AFNOG). ICANN is a platinum sponsor and a key participant of the event, with various activities planned by ICANN org and community members.

The following table outlines the main ICANN activities at this year's AIS:

In addition to the activities listed above, ICANN is holding a YouthCom (Youth Community) Workshop on 13-14 June. This event is organized in partnership with ISOC Uganda Chapter, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration of Uganda (NTIA-U), and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of Uganda.

Since 2016, YouthCom has been one of ICANN's key initiatives in the region, aiming to introduce people under thirty to ICANN and the larger Internet ecosystem. It complements our global ICANN NextGen and Fellowship programs, by strengthening them and creating local youth networks that will benefit from ICANN's leadership through trainings and guidance.

For your questions or more information on any of the above, you can get in touch with us at queries.nairobiec@icann.org

We look forward to seeing you in Kampala soon, and hope you will be able to join us at one or more of our activities!
