The following is a summary of discussions, actions taken and actions identified:

  1. Review of the FY22 Audited Financial Statements – The BAC received a briefing from ICANN's independent audit firm on the FY22 audited financial statements, which includes PTI's financial statements. The audit was performed in accordance with the audit plan. The audit firm reported on several aspects of its work as part of its required communications to the BAC. Among other things, the audit firm reported that: (i) ICANN org's accounting practices and policies are appropriate, they comply with generally accepted accounting principles and industry practice, they were consistently applied and they are adequately described in the financial statements; (ii) that the revenue recognition of transaction fee revenue and new gTLD revenue were recorded appropriately and are reasonable; (iii) that expenses appear reasonable and classified; (iv) that accounts receivable and allowance for doubtful accounts appear reasonable; and (v) that investments, investment income and realized and unrealized gains and losses were properly stated and reasonably valued. The audit firm also reported that they examined and tested the policies and procedures and controls as part of the audit and didn't identify any deficiencies. The audit firm stated that it was a clean audit.
  2. Singapore Audit Firm Update – The Committee received an update on the compliance audit of the Singapore office, which is required by the local law. As there is an efficiency to have the Singapore audit be conducted by the same firm that performs the U.S. consolidated financial statements audit, ICANN org has engaged its current audit firm to perform the Singapore audit. Like many international accounting firms, the Singapore audit will be performed through an international affiliate of ICANN's current audit firm. ICANN org will share the audit report with the BAC once the audit is completed.

    • Action: ICANN org to share the audit report with the BAC once the audit is completed.
