In an effort to minimize registrar confusion and encourage compliance with the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/ra-agreement-21may09-en.htm, ICANN developed an Advisory regarding the Expired Domain Deletion Policy (EDDP). The purpose of this Advisory is to clarify a requirement within the EDDP regarding what must be displayed on accredited registrars’ websites.

The EDDP is a Consensus Policy adopted by ICANN’s Board of Directors on 21 September 2004 (see http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/eddp.htm). The EDDP is incorporated into ICANN’s RAA at Section 3.7.5. Registrars are encouraged to read the Advisory carefully and contact ICANN at william.mckelligott@icann.org with any questions.
